Inspired by the Venezuelan National Soccer Team, which has represented the Venezuelan Soccer Federation in official competitions since 1938.
The term "Vinotinto" refers to the color of the national team's jersey. In 1938, a delegation of Venezuelan athletes attended the Bolivarian Games held in Bogota-Colombia. The International Olympic Committee assigned them the color burgundy, also known as Vinotinto, for their official uniform.
