Neoprene Mini Tote (Black) with Crossbody Handle.

This model is inspired by Matea Bolívar, better known as “La Negra Matea”, she was born in the El Totumo farm, owned by the Bolívar family, in San José de Tiznados, Edo. Guarico, on September 21, 1773. Daughter of family slaves. It was the tradition of the time for slaves to assume the surname of their masters.

La Negra Matea took over, along with Hipólita, the upbringing of Simón Bolívar after the sudden and early death of his mother. She was an important part of Bolívar's education, among the merits of Matea she was recognized as the First Teacher of the Liberator.

This dazzling black model is inspired by "La Aya del Libertador Simón Bolívar", Matea Bolívar, who played an essential role in Bolívar's life, as his nurse, friend and companion in many of his feats.

Matea died in Caracas on March 29, 1886 and his remains rest in the crypt of the Bolívars in the Caracas Cathedral until March 8, 2017 when, together with Hipólita Bolívar, they were transferred to the National Pantheon.
