Inspired by the Venezuelan Soccer Team, which has been represented from the year 1938 by the Venezuelan Federation of Soccer in the official competitions of the discipline.
The term "Vinotinto" refers to the color of the shirt of the selection. In 1938, a delegation of Venezuelans athletes attended the Bolivarian Games that where played
in Bogota Colombia. The International Olympic Committee assigned the color Red wine (vinotinto), for his official uniform. Also, there is a popular belief that by combining the colors of the Venezuelan flag yellow, blue, and red, this is the color obtained. Since then the red wine has adorned the selection of venezuelan football, influencing other teams from other disciplines, such as baseball and basketball.
