This model is inspired by Margarita Island, which is located in the Caribbean Sea. Along with the islands of Coche and Cubagua, this constitutes the only island state of Venezuela, called "Nueva Esparta".
The island played an important role in the history of the independence of Venezuela. After that, Margarita focused on commerce, which developed with the help of foreign travelers from mostly Spain and the island's inhabitants. Its location is in the south-eastern Caribbean, north-eastern Venezuela, north of the Araya peninsula in Sucre State. With a unique tropical climate, along with its exotic beaches and mountains, it has become known as La Perla del Caribe, a nickname that many Venezuelan and foreign tourists have given to the island. Margarita is one of the most important tourist attractions in Venezuela. It has beautiful beaches with excellent conditions for surfing, diving and other water sports, as well as colonial towns full of history. On the island there are several old Spanish fortifications (castles and forts), which are considered national heritage.
